Guide to defeating cancer

Even though thousands and thousands of people have survived cancer with changes in diet and lifestyle, cancer is still considered a death sentence in  mainstream media. As a result, most people accept it as true and make no effort to fight even before the doctors say it is too late. If they are lucky to be treated early by conventional treatment they may survive but the 5 year survival rate is very low.

Those who wan to fight cancer with natural methods on the other hand do not know where to start, what to do and what can be done. They are confused mainly because the information is so diverse.  Hearing that some herbs and some foods can cure cancer, they try to find t as many and as much as they can. But unfortunately, the result is far from what they expected.

This short guide is compiled to help you and people diagnosed with cancer defeat it with confidence.  With no more than 2 pages, the guide consists of   9 evidence based weapons any body can use. You can download it in PDF format here guide to defeating cancer

This guide can be used independently as a holistic approach to cancer or for enhancing the effectiveness of conventional cancer treatment.

1. View Cancer as a wakeup call, not a death sentence: This is the most important step. It is only a death sentence if you believe it’s a death sentence, as confirmed by physicians who treat cancer patients. Those who viewed cancer as a wake-up call on the other hand repeatedly expressed how grateful they are that they had the disease and how it transformed them and their life. Why? It is now widely known that tens of thousands new cancer cells are produced daily in every human body and the immune system is there to kill them. If the immune system is too weak to do the job properly, cancer cells accumulate and cancer results. Cancer diagnosis therefore is a wake-up call that we need to restore / strengthen the immune system to enable it to reverse the cancer development process. It is possible for every one to do so by avoiding unhealthy foods, eating healthy foods, nurturing healthy relationships, having a compassionate heart, a thankful spirit and a healthy lifestyle. We need to keep in mind that we need to address the root cause – i.e. not just to kill cancer cells but also to prevent their coming back. No drugs or doctors can cure the cancer in you. You are the only one who can free yourself from cancer by changing your diet, lifestyle and mental/emotional conditions. Once you are convinced and determined to get rid of cancer for good, the following are what you need to do:

Avoid unhealthy foods that cancer cells love, such as red meat, dairy, alcohol, high-sugar foods and processed foods including all refined vegetable oils such as canola oil, soy bean oil, sunflower oil, rice bran oil, safflower oil; artificial sweeteners, soda, and GMO foods. Excessive omega-6 to omega-3 in most vegetable oils has lead to numerous chronic inflammatory conditions and chromic illnesses including cancer.

3. Always eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables of a wide variety to boost the immune system. For those of us who want to have a clearly guided food plan during the fight against cancer, we may use the following brief summary of the food plan prescribed by Dr. Renee Wellhouse for her cancer patients in 1990s :

• Breakfast: Fruits and juices (no fats, vegetables or protein). Organic if possible.

• Lunch: Vegetables together with healthful fats such as extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil (well mixed with coconut yogurt is more beneficial) (no protein). Organic if possible.

• Dinner: Plant based Protein -such as legumes- together with vegetables (no starch or fruit) Organic if possible.

Include in your daily diet some of the following foods that have been scientifically proven to have anti-cancer nutrients such as:

• Mushrooms for protection against Breast, Stomach, Colorectal and Prostate cancers.

• Garlic for protection against Skin, Lung, Colon, and Stomach Cancers.

• Berries for protection against Skin, Bladder, Lung, Breast and Oesophageal Cancers.

• Turmeric for protection against Breast, Bowel, Stomach and Skin Cancers.

• Cabbage and crucifers for protection against Breast, Lung, Colorectal and Prostate Cancers.

• Leafy, dark green vegetables for protection against Breast, Skin, Stomach, Mouth, Pharynx and Larynx Cancers

• Legumes for protection against Mouth, Stomach, Colorectal, Breast and Prostate Cancers.

• Red grapes for protection against Skin and Breast Cancers • Walnuts for protection against Breast and Prostate Cancers

• Celery for protection against Ovarian, Pancreatic, Prostate, Breast, Liver and Lung Cancers.

• Lemon / citrus peel for protection against Skin, Ovarian, Colon, Breast, Leukaemia Cancers and cancer metastasis. Lemon peel can be taken by adding 1/2 or 1 whole organic – or well soaked non-organic – lemon to other fruit and vegetable juice.

• Coconut oil (cold pressed virgin) 2-3 tablespoons a day for protection against breast and colon cancers and as the only oil for cooking. Research has proven coconut oil has no less than 50 other benefits for health.

• Drink daily herbal teas that have anticancer property such as green tea, dandelion root tea, papaya leaf tea.

4. Specific anti-cancer protocols to speed up the healing process:

• Black cumin seed oil for protection against all types of cancers but particularly Pancreatic, and Colon cancers. Evidence based protocol is to take 1 teaspoon of black cumin oil mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey (Manuka honey is the best) half an hour before breakfast and before bed, 1 teaspoon in the afternoon mixed with the juice of one orange. (3 teaspoons of oil in total per day until cancer free and 1 teaspoon per day for maintenance). Black cumin seeds and its oil also enhance the health of kidneys, heart, liver, brain, respiratory, immune and digestive systems.

• Take 1 tablespoon flax seed oil well mixed with 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese or 3 tablespoon of coconut yogurt (ratio 1:3) 3 times a day. This mixture was well researched and used by Dr Budwig of Germany to successfully treat cancer on the basis that this substance help bring oxygen to the body cells. As cancer cells can’t thrive around oxygen, they are killed by this Budwig protocol. This protocol should continue after defeating cancer to maintain good health.

5. Release the emotional stress or negative emotions: This is critically important. Scientific studies have confirmed that negative emotions give rise to an irregular and erratic heart rhythm pattern, causing the body to function inefficiently, draining our energy and wearing out the whole system. We need to be freed from anger, frustration, anxiety, hatred, grudges, unforgiving, bitterness, regrets…. to save our body from deterioration. Carefully check and identify all the negative emotions we have harboured, specifically people who have not forgiven. Reflect on the damage/cost of holding on to them in terms of personal health, happiness and life enjoyment. Pray for strength to speak out and affirm that we forgive and to let them go. Keep on praying every day until you no longer have any negative emotions and become free of emotional stress. It greatly helps if we can find prayers and support from a professional and/or spiritual counselor; and from some loving and caring family members or friends. An EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner may help too.

6. Build up positive emotions

Positive emotions are confirmed to give rise to a coherent heart rhythm pattern, helping our body’s systems work in harmony and more efficiently to heal itself. Once we perceive cancer as a wake-up call, we probably look back to our life, reflect and reset the purpose and the meaning for our life. We may find it is best to start and end our everyday by identifying things that we should be thankful for and sincerely give thanks to God for them. Next is to pray for a heart filled with compassion, unconditional love, forgiveness, appreciation, kindness… Having support from a caring and loving family member and/or friend is also important.

7. Increase exposure to sunshine. Sun exposure is the best way to increase vitamin D. Vitamin D has proven to prevent cancer growth, growth and metastasis including prostate, rectum, breast and skin cancers.

8. Fasting 2-3 days a month or 16 hours a day  for the digestive system to rest. This will give the immune system and the detoxification system more energy and more time to clean toxins / waste from the body and to speed up the healing process.

9. Engage in light to moderate physical activities such as swimming, walking, biking, light sport 30-60 minutes 3 times a week.

Benefits of ingesting Black cumin seed oil

Black cumin seed oil has so many amazing health benefits, that have been traditionally and scientifically proven and none of us should miss.

Yes, I would like to introduce to you this oil, which I came to know and use about 6 month ago.

I am delighted and grateful to God for showing me this oil because it helped  clear the psoriasis I had suffered for over 10 years. Even though my psoriasis symptoms greatly reduced by 80-90% compared with 8 years ago thanks to diet improvement, the remaining 10-20% seemed incurable until I knew black cumin seed oil. Safety

BCSO is normally safe and well tolerated. There has been no reports about BCSO toxicity or adverse reactions. However, anything -including filtered water- in excessive use is unsafe. High dose vitamin C for acute infections and chronic illnesses

High-dose vitamin C has been shown to  effectively fight against severe bacterial infections such as pneumonia, influenza, poliomyelitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, typhoid fever, shingle, malaria, rheumatic fever. , HIV / AIDS, encephalitis … and other chronic disorders  such as cancer, arthritis, gout, hepatitis (Levy, 2017).

Cases

In 2010, New Zealand TV screening of the “Living Proof” show told the story of Allan Smith, a NZ farmer, who was severely infected with “Swine Flu H1N1”, with white out lungs and hairy cell leukemia. He was hooked to a life support system. After 4 weeks in coma even with heavy medication, the doctors recommended withdrawing life support because the condition did not improve, and the patient had no hope of survival. The family protested  that the doctors had not tried everything and requested for high doses of intravenous vitamin C. After  a session of only 25 grams of IV vitamin C , X Ray photos showed  the lungs were significantly cleared.  Continuing with  100 grams of IV vitamin C a day for a few days, Allan could breathe on his own and no longer needed life support. But then the situation deteriorated, the hospital admitted that they had stopped the vitamin C administration. Pushed by the family the hospital resumed vitamin C therapy , but only 2 grams a day. Allan’s condition improved again but very slowly. Moving to a hospital close to home, the doctors here stopped giving Vitamin C. His condition got worse again. This time the family had to take legal action to get vitamin C treatment. Again only 2 grams a day was given.  Allan however slowly recovered and when Allan was able to swallow, the family gave him large dose of  liposomal vitamin C. Allan could go home several weeks earlier than any one could think of and no longer had hairy cell leukaemia. A similar case was presented in a “60 minutes” program : an Australian woman, also suffered from H1N1, had to use life support machine.  The family, hearing the case of Allan Smith, decided to get more information from the Alan family and demanded the hospital to use IV vitamin C therapy for her. They consented.  Her lungs began to clear after a few treatment sessions and she no longer needed the live support machine. Unfortunately,  after convincing the patient’s mother that continuing vitamin C therapy would be  somehow dangerous , the doctors discontinued the vitamin C. She deteriorated and  died a few days later.

Dr. Andrew Saul, told the story that after only 3 hours he reversed  a severe pneumonia by taking 2 grams of vitamin C every 20 minutes, which is 20 grams per hour. Before taking high dose vitamin C, he coughed terribly with high fever. After 3 hours, the fever dropped 3 degrees F (nearly 2 degrees Celsius) and he stopped coughing.

Close to Dr Saul’s place was a 1-year-old baby with flu, fever, coughing, eyes and nose running, sneezing and crying for many nights. At that age she already had 11 full courses of antibiotics . Her pediatrician used everything she could – including antibiotics – but could not improve her condition . The father shared his worry with Dr Saul. Dr. Saul asked if he had tried  high dose vitamin C. After working out how much to give her, the father gave his child 20 grams of vitamin C powder. That made the little baby sleep and improve over night.  Dr Saul says you would no longer want flu shots after having such experiences with the power of vitamin C.

Dr. Thomas Levy, a cardiologist,  after knowing Dr. Hal Huggins –  a pioneer in high-dose vitamin C therapy – had witnessed the therapeutic effects of high dose vitamin C on “incurable” health conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer’s Dementia, Parkinson’s. Dr Levy then realised that degenerative diseases can be cured and reversed, instead of incurable as he had learned at medical school.  He began to study all of the magazines and literature and was amazed to find that vitamin C was the most important nutrient we could digest. A  wealth of  vitamin C research information had been published in well-known medical journals, rather than “not researched” as the conventional medicine school said. Since the 1940s, Dr Frederick Klenner has pioneered the use of high doses of vitamin C to treat many bacterial and viral infections such as polymyositis , tetanus, encephalitis.

Dr. Klenner also demonstrated that high doses of vitamin C can be used to detoxify toxic heavy metals, pesticides, carbon monoxide, barbiturates and heavy metals.

Dr. Thomas Levy then became a specialist in high doses of vitamin C to cure diseases that conventional medicine believed incurable. These include acute hepatitis, Dengue hemorrhagic fever, Lyme disease, AIDS, chronic hepatitis C, pneumonia, cancer and more than 30 other illnesses.

After 15 years of research and experimentation, Dr. Levy stated that high doses of vitamin C are powerful with no adverse effects. If vitamin C level in the body is normal, bacteria and virus can not be active. Most cancers start when high oxidative stress causes vitamin C deficiency in certain tissues. Lack of vitamin C in the inner lining of the blood vessels will allow fats to attach to the walls of the blood vessels and cause heart attacks . It means that vitamin C, if ever enough, will protect us from cancer, heart attacks and other diseases.

The role of Vitamin C in the functioning of the body

Dr. Ron Hunninghake discovered that vitamin C works as a potent drug because it plays a key role in mitochondrial function in every cell of the body – except red blood cells. The mitochondria is responsible for the energy of the cell and the body. Except that every heart, eye and brain cell has 10,000 mitochondria, most of the other cells have 500 to 1000 mitochondria. If they can not accomplish their function, we will be fatigued, susceptible to infections,  depression, dementia, cancer, insomnia, diabetes… mitochondria forms the ATP . In addition to generating energy, ATP runs the membrane pump that keeps potassium  magnesium in while pumping the calcium and the sodium out. If the ATP pump runs down, the cell membrane does not function well, causing insulin resistance, inflammation and  metabolic dysfunction. When the electron transport chain in mitochondria lacks electrons, mitochondria does not produce enough energy. Vitamin C can recharge the mitochondria as vitamin C is the most generous electron donor. We get old quickly because there are leaks in the membrane of the mitochondria – where energy is generated. Lacking energy, every tissue, every organ in the body, can not function well from the immune system, the liver, the kidneys, the bladder, the pancreas, the muscular skeletal system to the brain. Lacking energy at the cellular or mitochondria level is the root cause of most chronic diseases ( Hunninghake). If we want to slow down the ageing process or want to be healthy, strong with mental clarity and good stamina, we should consume vitamin C every day.

How to use high dose Vitamin C therapy

According to Dr Levy, Dr Hunninghake, Dr Steve Hicky,  Dr Gonzale and Dr Andrew Saul:

We should take vitamin C several times a day to maintain a good level of vitamin C in our blood. Just 2 grams a day we can prevent infection & bleeding gums, maintain muscle tone, increase mental clarity & good stamina, and reduce fractures, bruise and fatigue.

– If we have acute or chronic infection, we need to take more vitamins C, preferably at saturated level. The level of saturation is a level that does not cause unpleasant reactions to the body, especially diarrhoea. It could be 20 grams or 100 grams a day. You can find your saturated level by starting to take 10 grams per day in divided doses  several times a day. Increase the dose day after day until you have runny or too loose stool. The dose for previous day is your saturated dose.

– In the case of cancer, Dr. Michael Gonzalez, with many years of experience in cancer treatment with vitamin C, said slowly we should start slowly from 15 grams two or three times in the first week, then up to 25 grams, then up to 50 gm for a period of time and may increase to 75 g but not more than 75 gm. We must limit to oral intake or infusions of vitamin C several times a week because of the time it takes for hydrogen peroxide – due to the reaction of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) with oxygen generated – kill cancer cells. Estimated time is 36 to 40 hours.

There are two types of vitamin C to take orally. Normal vitamin C tablets or powder (ascorbic acid or some mineral ascorbate and liposomal vitamin C. The body only absorbs 30-40% vitamin C in tablets or powder while the absorption is 100% for the liposomal vitamin C (or lipo-C, lipo-sphere), which is packaged like a bodily cell that can “pass through the digestive barrier and delivers the nutrient directly to the blood stream”. (NaturalHealth365) So take 2 gm of liposomal vitamin C daily or at least 5 gm a day of tablets or powder to prevent illness, slow ageing and protect your health.

Precautions and adverse effects:

Even though the doctors using high doses of oral vitamin C confirm that  no adverse reactions have been reported.  There are some precautions and possible adverse effects we should be aware of:

  • Diarrhoea or stomach cramp: can be avoided by increasing the dose slowly and taking it with foods. Vitamin C as ascorbates can also reduce these adverse effects.
  • Worsening kidney stones, oxalosis and renal failure disorders.
  • Aggravating iron overload as vitamin C increases iron absorption.
  • One case was reported fatal in using high dose IV vitamin C to treat cancer.
  • Vitamin C may reduce the effects of anticoagulant such as warfarin
  • Vitamin C reduces the absorption of copper. Taking high dose vitamin C should  be accompanied by copper supplement.

Detox in practice 

In principle, we detox our body when we avoid sugar, white flour products, processed foods, and acid forming foods including animal products and drinks while consuming only whole fresh vegetables and low sugar fruits.

When it comes to detoxifying the body, we often think that we need medication or special foods and drinks to remove toxins from the body. Actually, foods, drinks and herbs used for cleansing do not themselves eliminate toxins from the body but only support or facilitate the body’s detoxification process. Detoxification is the daily built-in function of the liver, colon, kidneys, lymphatic and skin. However they can not accomplish their function properly when there are too much toxins created  in the body by unhealthy foods, drinks, living environment and stress (such as grief, anxiety, jealousy, hatred). As a result, toxins that are not eliminated would accumulate, weaken the immune system and  cause all kinds of diseases. We need to help the body accomplish its detoxification function by stopping toxins from entering the body while providing the body with enough detox enhancers, such as fiber-rich vegetables, alkaline forming foods, adequate sleep and rest. I am going to analyse the pros and cons of seven currently popular detox programs and list some basic detox principles so that every one can choose  a plan or a combined plan that suits his/her needs and availability of local vegetables/foods, either in Vietnam or in other regions.

  1.  Robyn Openshaw’s detox programme

For four weeks, I followed this detox plan myself to see if it works.

The first four days I am allowed to have only vegetable juice or smoothie without fruits. I had however cooked oats with or without with stevia for breakfast and baked potato chips for lunch. For dinners I had  mixed salad with tomato, cucumber, onion and apple cider vinegar , celery, garlic, parsley and a little salt spice.

Before starting this detox plan, I still suffered itchy and scaly patches on my legs and back.  But after a few days into this detox protocol, my skin clearly improved. Psoriatic skin patches seem to heal with less inflammation, fewer scales and less pruritic (itching).

The first four days with bland food and drink  was a torture. From the fifth to the seventh day, I was allowed  only vegetable smoothie or  juice . No other food was allowed. But, being able to add fruits like bananas, apples and berries smoothie became more tasty and palatable.

Over the second week, for breakfast I had millet porridge with coconut cream and maple syrup, or vegetable smoothie including strawberries, carrots, coconut milk, dates, sunflower seeds. For lunch I could choose barley or rye bread and vegetable smoothie . In the evening baked sweet potatoes, vegetable juice, cabbage salad or chopped vegetables were in the menu.

During the third week, the first two days I could have only  watermelon and  celery tea. The next three days I had to  drink apple juice or apple puree on an empty stomach for dissolving kidney stones, then consume more vegetable juice, barley bread and mixed salad with legumes, fruit and a few nuts. After 2 o’clock in the afternoon, no more food was allowed but I was supposed to drink water mixed with a tablespoon of Epson salt and olive oil before bed. (I did not try this part)

Fourth week I had vegetable smoothie,  barley bread, fried sweet potato or corn tortilla chips and mixed salad.

In general, this program of detoxification is not difficult because it requires no  fasting. But recommended foods seems too bland  for me. Shopping and preparing foods and drink also took  longer than I liked. This program is more difficult than I thought. Eating fruits and carbohydrates such as barley, millet, potatoes too early could slow down the detoxification process. Therefore if you have rheumatic arthritis, rheumatism, depression, diabetes, heart failure, fatigue or cancer, this program is not powerful enough.  In addition, this program requires daily colon cleansing, which takes just over an hour, and may remove most of friendly bacteria from the colon, thereby weakening the digestive system. After 4 weeks following this plan I lost 5 kilos but still could not have my psoriasis cleared. However, we have to remember detoxing is not magic . It may take many months  to eliminate toxins and and reverse health disorders if the disorders have been there for years.

  1. The detox plan in Bollinger’s 31 day Home Cancer Cure needs
  • 1 container of LivingFuel Supergreens and 1 container of LivingFuel’s Superberry available at www.living fuel.com.  Both containers cost $ US 150.00.
  • 2 bottles of Aloe Soothe powder costing $ US 50,
  • One bottle of Natren’s Healthy Trinity probiotics at Natren.com costing $ US 180
  • A set of Dr Hulda Clark’s parasite Cleanse for $ US 50.
  • 5 boxes of herbal remover, liver, blood and large intestine for $ 180.00.

A total of $ 610 is needed under this program on top of vegetables.

The plan is simple for  the first 22 days when only fresh vegetable juice mixed with filtered water with 1:1 ratio is allowed, as much as needed when hungry or thirsty. From day 23, solid foods are gradually allowed back starting with vegetables, nuts and seeds. According to Bollinger, the program has helped thousands of people get rid of cancer, including those in terminal stages. However, detoxification is only part of a comprehensive cancer treatment program. Bollinger’s anti-cancer program also requires intestinal cleansing, dry skin brushing, Apricot seeds and  Budwig protocol.

  1. Brett Elliott’s Ultimate Herbal Detox

Brett Elliott’s Ultmate Herbal Detox program in New Zealand is promoted as the world’s best herbal remedy and has sold over 100,000 packages around the world. It costs only $ 160 New Zealand ($US 120) and consists of Colonaid, Digezaid, Symlax and Livefood, each with 120 capsules (available at brettelliott.com and healthy.co.nz). ). A Herbal Detox guide is available free at brettelliott.com. Colon-aid contains all  of Dr Hulda’s herbs (in Bollinger’s detox program), in addition to herbs with mucus lining healing and peristalsis enhancing properties. Digezaid consists of 7 herbs to strengthen digestion and absorption of nutrients. Symlax consists of four herbs – psyllium, chia seeds, aloe vera a& slippery elm bark) to help the bowel discharge waste (without need for enema). Livafood has seven herbs rich in nutrients, supporting the liver and digestion, including cilantro (coriander) and chlorella, which have toxin binders to prevent toxins from being reabsorbed thus facilitating the removal of toxins through the  intestine. This program can be either 7 days for healthy people, 14 days for people with average health with minor disorders or 1 month for people with chronic diseases,  obesity or the elderly. Before starting this program, it takes 3 days of preparation. During these 3 days, we have to avoid wheat products, cereals, sugar, protein, meat, processed foods and sweet fruits such as bananas and pineapple. Only fresh vegetable juice, vegetable soup, sugar-free yogurt and water are allowed. The diet continues to apply throughout the detox period.

After detoxing  (1 week, 2 weeks or 1 month depending on the selection from the beginning), we can slowly eat  whole food (unprocessed) and fresh fish. By adding each type of food for a few days, we can know what foods are not good (such as itching, headaches, difficulty falling asleep) and are eliminated from our diet.

Brett Eliott said the Ultimate Herbal Detox program has been effective to address the following conditions: Allergies, acne, arthritis, asthma, bloating, diabetes Hypertension, celiac disease, boils / water, candida, enteritis, indigestion, gout, headache, heartburn, edema, fatigue, haemorrhoids, high cholesterol, digestive diseases, memory loss, fast heart beat, parasitic diseases, obesity, candlelight, sinusitis, belching ( Reflux), stomach cancer, toxemia … With its 26 herbs and restricted diet, the list is not surprising.

  1. Caruso’s quick 15-day cleansing program, introduced by one of my friends, has a similar effect to Brett Elliott’s program except for skin problems, asthma, gastric and haemorrhoids. The program consists of 23 herbs, less than 26 Elliott herbs (lacking chia seeds, psyllium and slippery elm bark), but has four more minerals and billions of units of three intestinal friendly bacteria. This program started in 1988 in Australia and according to related promoters, with more than 1 million packages sold. In Australia vitaminking.com.au sells it at $AU 72 , while in New Zealand, the most affordable store Healthpost.co.nz prices it at $NZ 108 . This program does not require avoidance of grains and potato starch, but  meat, fish, sugar, animal products and bovine, processed foods – including white flour – Coffee, tea and wine, beer are to be avoided.
  2.  10 day Cleanse  with lemon juice and maple syrup (maple syrup) initiated by Stanley Burroughs in 1941. This method recommends drinking 5-6 glasses of lemon juice a day, each with  2 tablespoons pure lemon juice mixed with 1.5 tablespoons of maple syrup, 1/10 tsp of chilli powder and a glass of filtered water. Lemon juice, maple syrup and chilli are all detoxifying, antioxidant. In particular, chilli is said to help remove carbon dioxide from fats and thoroughly cleanse the colon. (If you are not used to eat chili, then drink immediately after mixing). This method can be used in three ways:

– Option 1: Only drink lemon juice / syrup / chilli for 10 days to cleanse the whole body,

  • Option 2: Drink 2-3 glasses of  lemon juice instead of breakfast and dinner while take a snack for lunch.
  • Option 3: Combine the first and the second options:drink only lemon juice for 3 days and then the next 3 days drink lemon juice in the morning and evening with a snack at lunch. Then repeat the process again from day 7 to day 12.

Many people use this method to lose weight, but it actually has a very powerful cleansing effect. However, many people who can not put up with hunger in the first few days usually give up.

I experienced detoxification with lemon juice 36 years ago when  in the Phan Dang Lưu re-education camp . I fasted and only drank lemon juice with a little sugar for a week. Luckily a friend joined me so we could support one another to complete it over the week. Thanks to this body cleanse protocol, my severe allergy to shrimps and fish was totally cleared. It might also help me become immune to Hepatitis B as told by my doctor 10 years later.

Experience convinced me that cleansing the body with lemon juice is quite effective if you can tolerate hunger for the first few days and it is helpful to have a partner to do it with you.

  1. Hot Detox by Julie Daniluk , a nutritionist and therapist for Heathy Gourmet UK, is also the author of the popular “Meals that heal” book. This method aims to cleanse the body and heal the intestines with warm food and anti inflammatory foods. Julie experienced water fast, lemonade master cleanse fast, macrobiotic brown rice cleanse, cold juice fast, the candida diet, the gall bladderflush, parasite programs,  herbal cleanses even  Ayurvedic cleanse with a salt water purge. She noted that in these popular detox programs there is a lack of nutrition making the detoxification unsafe. Hot Detox was cerated to ensure that the body always has the nutrition it requires to run the detoxification pathways effectively.

Here, the principal foods are also vegetables, but you can eat a little chicken, eggs and fish if you want. This method encourages cooking before eating for easy digestion, so even the vegetable juice is hot, not cold, and some small amount of salt is allowed even though only natural sugar  (stevia) and small amount of raw honey are permitted. A bit more complicated are detoxing teas  with dry hibiscus flowers, dry elderberries, dried schisandra berries, dried nettle leaves, ginger powder, dried apples, sugar beets and aloe vera powder.

This plan includes many simple recipes for delicious dishes with vegetables, fruits, nuts, spices popular.  Julie uses the plan herself and many praised its effect and the foods made with her recipes . In addition, consumption of fermented vegetables is encouraged in this plan.

Julie’s book “Hot Detox” sells for just $ 12, showing the detoxification process of the liver and the nutrients it needs to filter out toxins, the reason why she chose this detoxification. Single day recipes for 21 days of detox with various options and cooking methods. The plan can be for 10 days or 3 days, but 21 days is said to be the best. I will put up google drive for you to know better.

7. “Total Wellness Cleanse” of Yuri Elkaim, the founder of the Super Nutrition Academy. This program aims to create an alkaline environment for the body, reduce sugar intake and improve the functioning of vital organs and body systems. The duration is  14 days. Menus and recipes for 14 days of detoxification are provided including  a list of what to eat and to avoid in these 14 days. Mainly animal food, white rice, wheat, barley, potatoes, bananas, oranges and pineapples are to be avoided. Brown rice, canned black beans, green beans, almonds, kernels, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, coconut oil, flax oil, lily oil, fish oil, sesame oil, hemp oil, walnut oil … all types of green leafy vegetables are encouraged.  Based on the alkaline nature of these foods, the program easy to implement and can easily continue. This program also includes measures to detox emotional and spiritual stresses. Morning menu starts with relaxing, deep breathing, giving thanks for everything one has with questions such as “What am I grateful for today?”, “Who is in my life that I can be grateful for?” and “What successes, achievments and moments of happiness can I be thankful for?” (Elkaim).

8. A detox plan of your choice 

For cancer, Bollinger’s detox plan in his “31 day home care cancer cure” is the most suitable. For chronic diseases over many years, Brett Elliott’s Ultimate Herbal Detox seems the best.

In other cases, we can choose a detox plan appropriate for our circumstances. We can combine herbs, lemon juice, coconut milk, rainbow vegetables and non sweet fruits for detoxing, depending on the locality behind for convenient and affordable for a day plan or longer .

Instead of just drinking lemonade and chilli, we can add ginger and some honey to make it easy to drink. And we can drink coconut water when we are hungry. Coconut water is palatable with  plenty of  vitamins and minerals for the body and also help to cleanse the body. However, do not drink more than a few cups of coconut water a day if you are hypotensive (low blood pressure) because coconut water contains a lot of potassium and is hypotensive . We can neutralise its hypotensive effect by mixing a pinch of salt with coconut water before drinking.

In principle to cleanse the body is to stop feeding the body with acid forming foods (which are inflammatory), increase intake of  alkaline forming  and anti inflammatory foods . This Alkamind food guide is a good list of acid forming and alkaline forming foods. Green vegetables,  coconut water and lemon juice all have these properties, although coconut water is slightly lighter than lemon juice. Maple syrup is expensive and not easily found in may regions.  It could be substituted with raw honey or coconut nectar sugar. Coconut nectar and live honey also have a slightly acidic forming effect due to their sweet taste and therefore should be used sparingly for taste improvement.

I think we can best stick to only lemon juice, some coconut water and vegetable juice for the first 4 days. From dạy 5, we can add broccoli, rainbow  vegetables such as kale, chards, red and green  cabbage, carrots, white radish, sugar beets, sweet potatoes,  green peas, okras, green beans, spinach, cilantro (coriander), onion, garlic, turmeric, ginger .. Fish bone broth, chicken bone broth, a little sea salt or fish sauce. It may help to see choose recipes from Julie’s Hot Detox and ElKaim’s recipes.

We have to absolutely avoid sweeteners or sugar. Eat one cup at a time. In addition, you can drink detox teas to reduce inflammation like bitter tea , chrysanthemum tea, dandelion tea – cinnamon tea,  cayenne tea, papaya leaves tea (papaya leaves contain a lot of proteolytic enzymes that break down protein, toxins and kill cancer cells)

In Vietnam you can have fresh gotu kola juice, cucumber juice,  avocado,  bacopa greens, lettuce, watercress .. at least once a day during cleansing. These vegetables are detoxifying, liver tonic and effective parasiticide, and also rich in fibre and vitamins / minerals beneficial for   body cleanse. At the same time every day we need  fermented vegetables and kimchi to replenish friendly bacteria in our gut.

General principles after detoxification :

After cleansing, to prevent the body’s detoxification system from overloading, we need healthy eating, that is, eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, good oils like coconut oil, live olive oil, fermented vegetables, kimchi and the most nutritious seeds such as almonds, chia seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, macadamia nuts, cashew nuts and pumpkin seeds. Remind ourselves to reduce meat consumption, avoid processed foods,  white flour products and white sugar. And if we do body detox  twice a year, we will be safe from  cancer and many chronic health disorders.

In conclusion, as long as we avoid sugar, white flour products, processed foods, and acid forming foods including animal products and drinks while consuming only whole fresh vegetables and low sugar fruits, having good sleep and developing a grateful, loving, forgiving spirit, we are detoxing our body.

Foods to avoid

Foods with high glucemic index to avoid include  white sugar, croissants, white bread, bagels, white rice, glutinous rice, rice pasta / rice noodles / rice noodles and rice cakes, sweets, cornflakes, rice bubbles, ice cream, wine, beer, potatoes…

Reason : Glucose not only feeds cancer cells but also creates cancer cells. It also weakens the immune system because it blocks vitamin C from entering the white blood cells. White blood cells are the main cells of the immune system that need 20 times more vitamin C than normal cells.

Artificial sugar (aspatame, sucralose) also causes cancer. Therefore we should avoid foods and drinks containing artificial sugar especially diet sodas.

Products containing glutamate or glutamine include sweeteners, black beans, mushrooms, soy products, caseinate. Reason: Cancer cells also need glutamine (precursor of glutamate) to survive and grow.

Processed foods because they contain hundreds of chemicals for long-term preservation and good taste … All are toxic to the body and cause cancer. It is therefore advisable to avoid all processed foods, including restaurant foods. There are no rice noodle soups “phở”  without MSG at restaurants,  Of course this is not a permanent measure. After cancer disappears, it is sometimes ok to eat out and consume your favourite dishes .

All types of meat including beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and fish. In 2005-2006, research by Dr Dean Ornish and other researchers showed that the condition of prostate and breast cancer patients who continued to eat meat and fish got worse in just 12 days. On the other hand, the condition of the group of patients who switched to eating whole vegetables  improved.

The first reason is that when eating fish meat, the liver  secretes insulin like growth factor 1 (IGF 1), a hormone that causes cancer cells to grow.

The second reason is that fish, red meat and eggs contain a lot of methionine. Many types of cancer, especially colon cancer, breast cancer, uterine cancer, blood cancer, skin cancer need methionine to survive. In the plants, only beans contain the most methionine, but only half that of red meat and eggs, and one fifth that in chicken and fish. The amount of methionine in vegetables is just half the amount of methionine in the beans. Fruits do not have methionine. Not only is avoiding important  but it is also important to avoid  all dairy products, including cheese, yogurt and yogurt.

Foods to eat plenty :

Fresh organic fruits and vegetables, ie, not contaminated with chemicals or pesticides.

Fruits are sweet and contain lots of sugar but also other nutrients, especially fibre to slow down blood sugar absorption rate. Fruits and green leafy vegetables consist of a lot of substances we can not absorb (for example, insoluble fibre) but are needed to feed microorganisms in the digestive tract, thus enhancing digestion and strengthening the immunity system. Organic vegetables and fruits provide the body with plant nutrients that are antioxidant and help regulate cellular life cycle.

The best fruits against cancer are black raspberry, fig  because these two fruits have the most anti-carcinogenic constituents that kill cancer cells. Red grapefruit is similar to mulberry and figs. However, all organic green fruits and vegetables are anti-carcinogenic because they have to develop protection against fungi.  On the other hand  vegetables sprayed with insecticides and pesticides  lack the ability to fight diseases.

According to Dr. David Jockers, 8 nutrients that inhibit cancer metastasis  include ursolic acid, vitamin D, curcumin, EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), sulforaphane, quercetin, apigenin and luteolin. The following vegetables are listed as containing many of these substances.

  • Ursolic acid is rich in holy basil, apple peel, oregano, and bilberries. Ursolic acid was found to “disrupt cancerous activity by destroying the survival mechanisms that cancer cells are reliant upon” (David Jockers)
  • Sun exposure is the best way to increase vitamin D. Vitamin D has proven to prevent cancer growth, growth and metastasis including prostate, rectum, breast and skin cancers.
  • Turmeric is a curcumin rich spice. Many clinical trials have shown that curcumin inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells in a wide variety of cancers. These  include breast, uterus, ovary, kidney, bladder, brain, blood, colon, pancreas, liver and lung cancers; andnon-Hodgkin lymphoma.
  • Green tea is an EGCG-rich drink. EGCG prevents cancer from spreading  by binding to the 67LR protein receptor station as a cancer-causing protein. It also pushes cancer cells into the doorways of the cellular life cycle, helping to eradicate cancer cells.
  • Broccoli sprouts, broccoli,  kale  and cauliflower are rich in sulforaphane. They reduce inflammation and prevent the development of cancer by strengthening the body’s natural detoxification pathways to eradicate toxins and enhance the immune response. They are effective for breast cancer, prostate cancer, spleen cancer, colon cancer and stomach cancer.
  • Vegetables with plenty of quercetin include onions, capers, blackberries, raspberries, black tea, green tea, dark cherries, cocoa powder Kale, apple and parsley, coriander … Quercetin  stimulates detoxification and suppresses the spreading of cancer cells.
  • Foods rich in apigenin include parsley, grape fruits, onions, oranges, chamomile tea, celery, sunflower sprouts, broccoli sprouts and broccoli. Apigenin inhibits the invasion of cancer cells into new tissues and prevents tumour growth.
